As the fur-covered feeder of four felines, Buzz is a bit reluctant to encourage violence against cats, except our own. But we can't just help whackin' those CueCats. And neither can a collection of self-described Hyundai-driving, under-employed Democrats and Greens who plan to march on Channel 8 and The Dallas Morning News at noon Sunday to protest what the group considers biased political coverage. Or, more precisely: "We are sick and tired of Big Brother, our Orwellian friend Belo," says group member Anna Casey, sometime freelance political operative, part-time gardener.

Casey says she and some Internet buddies, possibly joined by a group of computer hobbyists, will converge outside the Channel 8 and Morning News offices hauling at least 80 CueCats in pet carriers. (They're the worthless, Belo-backed bar-code scanners that computer users can attach to their computers to use as paperweights.) The group will threaten to murder the plastic cats unless Belo agrees to be more responsive to non-Republicans.

Casey says the group collected the devices from friends and various Radio Shacks, which gives them away. How did they get Radio Shack to give away so many? By providing the stores various names, including Amy, Laura, and Cindy "Belo." --Compiled from staff reports by Patrick Williams"

PRESS RELEASE -- FOR RELEASE SUNDAY

We’re mad as hell and we’re not gonna take it anymore!!!!!
At noon on Sunday, a group calling themselves Home of the Brave will protest the biased news coverage and the Orwellian Big Brother tactics of the Belo Corporation, parent company of the Dallas Managed News and Spirit of Greed, Channel 8. This protest will take place at noon in front of the Belo Corporation on Young Street.

We’ve sent a ransom note to Belo (copy enclosed). Belo is part of the Bush coup d’etat – Come and be part of the :cue d’etat!

We will kill the cats – Belo’s latest Orwellian gadget. We expect to kill over 80 cats to fight the theft of truth and our democracy!

Who is afraid of a little Kitty? You should be !!! Belo Corporation, the owner of the Dallas Morning News and Channel 8 Television has spent millions of dollars on the "Cue Cat." You know, those innocent cat-looking computer scanners that Belo is giving away at Radio Shack so that you can "scan" your newspaper for additional news. Sounds nifty?

BEWARE!!!
This little Kitty is a Trojan Horse! Problem is that this cute looking Kitty scanner is embedded with a microcomputer chip that records and sends back to Belo all the information you scan. Now Belo can create a "profile" on you. Belo knows what you like to read, buy, and do. They sell that profile to your employer, your insurance company, or anyone who wants to pay! Sounds a little like J. Edgar Hoover, huh? Big Brother meets the Computer Age.

Don't be a sucker!!!
Why does a profit-seeking corporation "give away" expensive computer equipment? Because they like us? Hogwash! They want to place the Cue Cat in your home as a spy. Do not let them in. Say "NO!" to Cue Cats. If you have one, destroy it - tell your friends. Only when you speak out can we fight Big Brother!!!

Big Brother does not stop there. Belo wants to control what information that you receive. After all, a "fat and happy," uninformed citizenry does not realize how and when their rights are being stolen. Belo only reports on what they want you to see. Just look at their recent lack of coverage of local citizens' outrage at the coup in Florida and the "Brown Shirt" Pro-Bush Rent-a-Mobs' attempts to stage a coronation for "His Fraudulency," King George.

Why is Belo in bed with Bush?!?
Why does Belo not want you to know that the 2000 Presidential Election and George Bush's ascension to the presidency is, in fact, a non-military "suit and tie" coup? Because they are part of that coup!!!
