How does

Gaining TDP's Work?

As you probably know, Time Development Points (TDPs) are what you spend in order to train your mental and physical stats. There are two ways to earn TDPs, from circling and from gaining ranks in your skills.

Gaining TDPs from circling is pretty straight forward. At lower circles, you will gain 50 TDPs each time your guild leader allows you to circle. At higher circles, you gain 100 + [current circle] in TDPs. The circle at which it changes seems to vary for different characters, and may have something to do with what your character's stats are when you reach level 10.

Gaining TDPs from ranking skills is more complicated. Every time you gain a rank in a skill up X, you gain a fraction of a TDP equal to X divided by 200(*). For example, if you ranked in teaching up to 100, you would gain .5 TDPs. Or if you ranked in Magical Devices up to 500, you would gain 2.50 TDPs.

You will notice that when you type EXP, it gives an integer for how many TDPs you have and not a fraction. This is because you cannot spend a fraction of a TDP. So say, for example, if you have 45.15 TDPs it would say you had 45. And then, if you ranked in a skill up to 100, you would have 45.65 TDPs, so it would still say that you have 45. Now that you have 45.65 TDPs, if you ranked in that same skill up to 101, you would now have 46.155 and it will say that you have 46.

(*) Some people will tell you that the number you divide by is not exactly 200, but close. Do not listen to them, the number is exactly 200. I tested once after I noticed that I gained a TDP when I ranked in Heavy Plate up to 1 rank. I ranked in skills which added up to 199, and still had not gained a TDP yet. Then I went out and ranked in a weapon I had never used up to 1 rank, and did gain a TDP. If that's not proof enough, I don't know what else is.

Thank you, come again.
