Spiritual Objectives:
Will continue to develop daily Bible reading and prayer
.
Will continue to write in daily prayer journal.
Will continue to see God's glory all around and to walk in His ways.
Will continue to learn about God's plan for women as keepers of their home.
Will develop organizational skills, sewing skills, and cleaning skills as appropriate for a keeper of the home.
Will continue in memorization of Bible Scriptures.
Academic Objectives
(to include but not limited to the following):
English (to include spelling, reading, and writing):
Will continue a daily, literature-based, sustained reading program (20-30 minutes/day).
Will continue reading widely from various genres: humor, irony, make-believe, fiction, nonfiction, fairy tales, tall tales, poetry, biography, and etc..
Will continue developing library and research skills.
Will write at least one research paper.
Will improve rate, expression, and enjoyment in oral reading.
Will continue improving recitation and memorization skills.
Will continue to use contextual clues and phonic skills to expand reading comprehension and vocabulary. An emphasis will be placed on learning vocabulary across the curriculum.
Will continue to improve spelling using phonics rules and reading critically.
Will continue developing writer’s voice through regular and sustained written composition.
Will continue to develop editing skills.
Will improve sentence structure, mechanics, punctuation, and word choice.
Will develop listening skills through Mom's regular reading aloud.
Will continue developing ability to respond critically to literature through oral and written narratives.
Will use computer to produce at least one published composition.
Will continue to master cursive writing.
Mathematics
Will continue to recognize the importance of application of mathematics and mathematical reasoning in daily life.
Will continue to find the sum or difference of to 4 digit numbers when renaming is necessary.
Will improve and expand computer literacy and applications.
Will master the multiplication tables through 9x9=81 and division tables through 81 / 9=9.
Will begin to compute multiplication and division of two and three digit numbers by a single digit number.
Will continue learning to use a calculator effectively.
Will continue to develop multiple-step, problem solving strategies.
Will continue to practice estimation skills.
Will be able to read, write, identify order, and place value of numbers through 1,000,000 and explore those beyond.
Will continue to analyze, extend, describe, and create a wide variety of growing patterns.
Will name, compare, and problem solve with basic fractions..
Will use money to explore concept of decimal numbers such as tenths and hundredths.
Will work problems involving various standards of measurement (standard, metric, Celsius, Fahrenheit, etc.)
Will continue to gather information from graphs, maps, charts, etc. as well as translate information into these forms.
Will continue to discover symmetry and patterns in mathematics.
Will continue identifying basic geometric figures and developing skills utilizing such.
Social Studies
Will continue to deepen understanding for God’s design for the family, concentrating on the woman’s role in it.
Will do a survey study on the United States Regions.
Will study Colonial America and their key figures

Will study geography within the context of Colonial America.
Will continue developing map and globe skills and geography locations.
Will study the history of the political process in America.
Will learn about each president and their contributions to America, and the election process.
Will study the symbolism and construct a model of the Tabernacle.
Will continue constructing and developing historical timeline.
Will continue developing good stewardship.
Will study current events and the effect they have upon our nation, community, world, and personal lives.
Will continue to learn about and practice community service.
Will learn the basics in American sign language and begin to communicate in such.
Will continue to take an interest in other people, to practice hospitality, and to improve social etiquette.
Science and Health
Will practice proper care of own body through diet, exercise, rest, and good hygiene.
Will participate eagerly with hands-on experiments and natural explorations to discover the nature of science.
Will study plants through observations, experiments, and drawings in nature notebook.
Will study birds through observations, experiments, and drawings in nature notebook.
Will study the process of research.
Will study scientists and the scientific method.
Will continue own pursuits of interests in nature notebook on nature walks and outdoor explorations.
Will write at least one science fact sheet.
Will do independent study on life of a famous scientist of choice and present results to a group.
Will practice water and bike safety.
Will continue to learn about safety through community awareness.
Will develop in interpersonal relationships such as social acceptance, mental awareness, and spiritual warfare.
Physical Education
Will continue to value and demonstrate good sportsmanship.
Will continue to master swimming skills.
Will improve strength, tone, speed, and coordination.
Will develop a daily exercise regime that may include but not be limited to walking, jogging, skating, jumping rope, dancing, swimming, or bicycle riding.
Music
Will continue to develop ability to sing on pitch and with good tone quality.
Will begin listening and appreciating the master musicians.
Will continue developing the ability to hear and mimic rhythmic patterns.
Will participate in regular group singing.
Will attend at least one musical presentation.
Art
Will continue experimenting with a variety of media.
Will learn the basics of color theory.
Will learn basic drawing concepts.
Will complete several domestic art projects.
Will visit at least one art museum presentation.
