NH50/80/100/125 Aero/Lead
The NH50/80/100/125 "Aero" or "Lead" is an air-cooled, two-stroke scooter that
has been very popular for Honda around the world due to it's reliable
engine. They were sold as the "Aero" in the USA briefly in the early 80s
and then withdrawn due to concerns about meeting emission standards as a
two-stroke. Only the 1984 model year of the NH125 was sold in the US and
the manual supplied with them claimed a top speed of 54mph. It has been
sold throughout the rest of the world as the "Lead" (pronounced "Leed"),
including all over Europe, Asia and Australia. It appears the 125cc
version is no longer made, at least under the Honda nameplate. More
photos and specifications will be coming to this site soon. For some
reason there is confusion regarding the 50cc models and whether they were
all the NB50 or some were also the NH50. Help to clear this up would be
most welcome. As of 2000, it appears only the 100cc version is being sold in Japan.
