What Do We Do

We Serve

Circle k UWI is all about service. Serving meals to needy children on the streets here in Jamaica, distributing canned foods to the aged, collecting and delivering clothing to neglected children's homes.

Our motto 'Children We Build" has been  the theme on which many club projects have been focused. Over the years several school building projects have been financed and implemented with the help of our big brother Kiwanis club, which is North St. Andrew.

Also several joint projects have been undertaken with other members of the K family Kewanians and Key Clubbers alike. For example whole pre schools have been re roofed painted and cleaned in one day. Circle k UWI is  proud to be affiliated with so many successful service projects especially as it concerns the children.

Leadership Training

Twice per year members of the big brother version of circle k International, Kiwanis International, hosts leadership training conferences for ck'ers and and board members. These conferences are geared at teaching us how to become good leaders and productive people. The conferences are always educational and useful in many club endeavors and future goals. to add leadership training often helps to stimulate thinking and problem solving skills which are good to have in the professional world.

FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Circle k is also about having fun while doing what we do best. The club has several trips per year which only requires the members to rest, relax and have a good time fellowshipping as a family.  Not only that, Circle k International in their bi laws require clubs to take part in socials, rallies district and international conventions which more often than not appeals to the more social side of things. Making friends with new and interesting people at these large gatherings is common place as the atmosphere is always pleasant.

One can also recollect many service projects at which a great time was had by all. For example after a long day in the hot sun at a beach clean up, or club president decides to take a swim (clothes and all). Being deducted to the T everyone decided to follow and just have a good swim. We had a crazy FUN time (though later we had some trouble getting home as no one would take us in their vehicles looking like wet rats).  Also there has been more than one project for example a tree planting or a painting project were everyone decides to have a little party to celebrate the projects success music, food, and the most fun people in the world in always a good combination and UWI tends to have it all. Who can ask for more . Serving others on a whole is  fun as there is often this fulfilling feeling that one gets after being hugged by a child who really needed it. YOU CAN HUG A CHILD WHO REALLY NEEDED IT JOIN TODAY.
