Forza Napoli Forever! Promotion to Serie A!

Finally, a season all supporters of Napoli are waiting for, PROMOTION TO Serie A! A season to remember as Napoli started the season more like a team in danger to relegation to Serie C1. An improvement in the second round of matches saw Napoli going all the way and push potential promotion candidates out of the way, the most significant is the defeat of Sampdoria in May. We never look back then and hang on to the promotion berth till the last kick. Surprisingly, except Vicenza finished as clear champions, Napoli, Brescia and Atalanta all finished on equal points, joint second in Serie B! Goal differences are not used in Italy to seperate teams on level points.

Forza Napoli, Grande Schwoch, Grande Novolino! Going Up, Going Up, Going Up, Napoli is going up. Now you have to believe us. We are in Serie A once more!!!!!

THE WAY AHEAD, LIFE IN SERIE A.

zeman.jpg (18088 bytes)

Napoli have announced Czech Coach Zedek Zeman as coach to lead Napoli through Serie A. But the club's sole aim is to stay up in the first season to prevent themselves to become an "elevator" club, one who shuttles between Serie A and B.

After one month, Zeman is not working miracles but getting Napoli into big trouble. With one point in five games, Zeman was sacked. Mondonico was given the task to bring Napoli to safety. The future looks bleak, but the fans, players and management are still hopeful that Napoli will be successful in its survival.

GRAZIE SCHWOCH!

Sad to say, Torino, just relegated from A purchased Schwoch from us to spearhead themselves to A next year, we will definately missed our top striker. But replacement Nicola Amorouso, a quality Striker from Juve will carry on where Schwoch left off.

GRAZIE(Thanks) Schwoch for scoring the goals that brought us up. All the best in Turin!

Forza Animal!!

edmundo.jpg (7281 bytes)

Napoli needs a goalscorer urgently. Argentina's Martin Palemo was their target till he opted to join Villareal in Spain. So their attention turned to Edmundo nicknamed Animal. This player was known to be a hard man on and off the field together with his love for animals, that's how his unusual nickname came about.   He had an unsuccessful spell with Fiorentina ended with his refusal to play for the club. This tactic of refusal to play for a certain club happen not only at Fiorentina but at Brazilian teams he joined as well. All Napoli fans want from him is that score goals to win and keep Napoli up. We also hoped that he stay on in Napoli longer than what many expected.
