Deception

What hidden desires lie within your soul

Dear friend answer me

Can you tell me or do you not know yourself

What is it that flames

Wherefore is it that roars in thy breast?

You’ve become empty, you’ve become scared

Faced with a reality to fierce to concede

You can’t understand yourself anymore.

But yet this I do not see

I see you laughing, I see you smile,

Contemptment is your friend

Success is knocking at your door

Stop! Stop the illustrious pounding!

Go back to the depth of thy darkness, you cried.

Into the abyss thou has laid thyself,

With the blood dripping from thy wrists.

Your ghosts have departed,

But to me did you forfeit them,

For Courage and Perseverance I saw in your eyes,

Though they were mere shades of your costume

For I chose to cast my friendship on your surface,

But the disguise prohibited me from seeing the heart of a

real person.
