Mirror III
Look deep into the Image
Glaring?
Back at you
As you glaze around
The darkness,
Of the screaming charcoal shadows
That call out to you
All their mis-lived aspirations.
They swirl around you
Teasing, hissing
Laying ashes on
Your warm, cozy mittens.
They scatter, they gather
They converse,
In the disappointments.
Blackened soot,
Tarnished dreams,
Covering you as you look
In the mirror.
Of the unrelenting crows.
They spout out the guilt
Of their high expectations,
With nails of smoke
Tackling the core
Of your existence.
Bang! Clank! Smash!
Bang! Crash! Slam!
Silent shadows
Speaking so eminently
Hoping you are listening
To them floating around
You with their loud whispers.
Close those eyes!
Block off those ears!
And then you will see
Them,
Still floating
Among your memories,
If you still listen
To the darkness
As you let them
Take over
Your mirror.
For all of those are still looking for the way
