Welcome to Romany Rye Fortunetelling. My name is Daniel, and I have been a fortuneteller and advisor for more than twenty years, appearing at Renaissance Festivals and private functions since 1994. I was introduced to card reading when I was given my first deck of fortunetelling playing cards by my grandmother - herself a palmist at church bazaars - in my Christmas stocking when I was eight years old.
I began seriously studying the Tarot, the original form of our modern playing cards, in 1984 at age sixteen, and have since learned many other kinds of fortunetelling with such games as dice, dominoes, and Mah Jongg as a part of my exploration of card reading and its history. I also use the I Ching, pendulum dowsing, interpretive astrology, dream interpretation and other methods as a focus for the gift I call "Second Sight", which runs in my family. The name Romany Rye means "the Gypsy gentleman", and refers to my portrayal of a Gypsy at festivals, and honors the historical role of Roma, the Gypsy people, in disseminating fortunetelling with cards, palms and countless other means throughout Europe during their wanderings. I use traditional, historic methods and interpretations guided by my intuition and my gift to advise, inform and to entertain. I have made this website to explain who I am and what I do.
