Computer Game History
The first major violent video game was Wolfenstein. Wolfenstein was created in 1983. When it was created all it was was a bunch stick figure without any graphics. Not till 1992 were graphics and blood were added and this paved way for a new generation of violent video games. After Wolfenstein came Doom.

Doom was created in 1993. Doom used a more sophisticated engine to run. This allowed it to have better graphics. Originally doom was created to allow bullet holes to show up and Monsters to show damage. But that idea was later rejected because it would require to much memory. Something that computers at this time did not have a lot of. |

With games such as Half-Life, Counter Strike, Day of Defeat and Many, Many others. One of the most debated games was first created in 1998. Grand Theft Auto has been changed a couple of times to become what it is today. Grand Theft Auto has been considered one of the most violent video games of all time. Where a person get points for killing people, And where you can steal just about everyone vehicle. In the last month It has been on the front page of the paper. Games get better every year with better graphics and story plots. But they are also getting more and more violent. |
