My favorite "Hook Setting Rod Holder" device. This one works extremely well and the pivoting arm swings and sets the hook hard. The device has been tested at both river banks and lake side. It works on a simple trip wire which is triggered by movement of the arm (which you wrap the fishing line around). The fish tugs the line and the top of the arm moves towards the fish. The bottom of the arm moves in towards the vertical bar and trips the wire, thus setting the hook when the tube (rod holder portion) moves upward. The arm on recoil of the spring and tube swings back around over the top of the tube actually providing a yank effect on the fishing line. You have got to build this one!
