Francois, according to the 1752 cencus, was living on the Isle-St-Jean for the past 15 years and had been in this country for 40 years. At that time Francois was known as a gentilhomme and was the owner of four oxen, one cow, two heifers , two sows, one calf, thirteen ewes and two pigs. In 1758 the British took over the Isle-St-Jean and deported the French Acadians from the Isle. Francois went to the Isle. of St Pierre Miquelon where he had died in 1782 and was buried. Five years later in 1787 his sons Francois and Jean return to the Isle-St-Jean and settled in Rustico at La Point a Grand Pere ( The Point ). There they bought 50 acres of land each from Francis Todd a merchant from Montreal and raised their famlies.
