| I will never give birth in a hospital again... 1. They allowed me to believe I was an idiot. That I couldn't possibly birth my child without their intervention. 2. They wouldn't let me eat until after the birth (21hrs. is a rediculous amount of time to wait). 3. They induced my labor for their convenience. My water only partially broke. My labor was still moving too slow until they actually checked(hours later) and discovered the slight hold-up. 4. So I spent 8hrs. strapped down to a f.......g bed with devices and wires hanging all over and the beep, beep, beep. 5. Although my partner and I repeatedly told the nurse that I did not want any pain medications, she asked me everytime she came in the room. I did cave in. |
| 6. They gave me an episiotomy. He had only crowned and there was not yet a problem. 7. They insisted on us to staying for nearly 48hrs, although there was no medical reason. My son's APGAR score was 9, we were both just fine. The problem was that it wouldn't fit into their schedule for us to leave the next evening. Their check-out time was at 10:00am. 8.This hospital experience bothers me so much because I know that it affected my intial responses to my son. I didn't have the urge to hold him right away, I asked for food. I did not want to breastfeed him right away, I was still too doped up and wanted to sleep. It really makes me mad to know that it was so unnecessary. |
