In Loving Memory Of Allen Skipper January 3, 1958 to January 18, 1995

Johnny and Allen had been friends for many years and celebrated their birthdays together since they were both in January. On the night of January 17, 1995 at 10:30 Allen left Johnny's house after telling him I will see you tomorrow, I love ya man.

The next day was Johnny's birthday and they were to get together.

Instead, the next morning Allen's mother found him dead...hanging in his closet. Johnny never got over this and spent hours staring at this picture and at Allen's grave searching for answers.

Allen and Johnny are buried in the same cemetery with The Ranew Family.

I knew Allen was on crack. I could tell by the way he acted. I even asked Johnny if Allen was on drugs. I should have known he would not tell me though. They were friends. They loved each other.

Johnny saw telling me as a betrayal to Allen.

I begged Allen to stop. I told him how smart and handsome he was and with his heart of gold he could do anything he wanted. I went into his room late on the night of January 17. He was crying and writing a letter. I asked him if he was writing his girlfriend who lived out of town. Thats what I believed he was doing. The next morning I found the letter, it was to me. He told me I was a good mama and that he loved me and he loved all mothers. He had just been on drugs too long to stop. I can hardly swallow just thinking about finding his body. It is a day that will live with me until I die.
