Termite is a red nosed pit bull that was found in Alachua, Florida by some veterinary staff workers, and was subsequently taken in by Susie Keel, a wonderful woman who works a great deal with bull breed rescue.
Termite's condition when he wa found in August of 1998 was very poor, having been hit by a car as a pup, he had, and has to this day, a healed hairline fracture in his pelvis. This was the least of his worries, however; he had a severe limp due to a pellet remaining in one knee after being shot, a severely broken tail, heartworms, and malnutrition.
Today, Termite lives a happy and active life with the Frechettes, an absolutely wonderful couple who live in Kentucky.
Among others, I would like to thank Pit Bull Rescue Central, a great rescue site which brought Termite and his new owners together. The dedication of the volunteers staffing that organization astounds me, and I can only wish there were more like them!
