BLOODSUCKING
PHAROAHS
IN
PITTSBURGH
(1991)
Featuring
blood, death, Egyptians,
and tomato
salmon casserole

Well, there wasn't really
any blood-sucking (except maybe one scene with an
industrial strength
power vac), and there weren't really pharaohs. I would
guess that it took place
in Pittsburgh, although I'm not sure if it's even
mentioned in the film.
But, even with these shortcomings, Bloodsucking
Pharaohs in Pittsburgh
is an entertaining low budget B-movie. Joe and
Sweeney are two bumbling
cops (one with a chain-smoking wife, the other with
a weak stomach) who
stumble onto murder victims. The victims all have a
different body part
taken from them. Joe remembers a similiar MO on a case
back from his days in
Las Vegas, and they fly in his old partner from those
days. However,
it's not his old partner, but his daughter. Turns out, the
old partner is missing.
Can his daughter and the two cops (who are wanted
dead by their boss)
find this man? Can they determine who the killer is?
Can they just not screw
it up too bad?
The movie is funny.
The first scene, where the killer, dressed in black, is
walking past cars at
a makeout point pulling a wagon with a generator in it,
as we hear the different
conversations of the couples in the cars, is
indicative of the humor
throughout the film. The killer uses his generator
to power his many instruments
of death, and there are some gruesome deaths.
A lot of the death blows
are off-screen, but there are some great gore
effects (thank you again,
Mr. Tom Savini). There was a lot of fake blood
used in this picture,
making many scenes disgusting. Not to mention the
tomato salmon casserole!
So, if you're looking for some cheap gore and
cheaper laughs, check
out Bloodsucking Pharaohs in Pittsburgh. You may want
to shoot some alcohol
into your mouth with a squirt-gun first, though, to
get you in the mood!
