BONE COLLECTOR
(1999)
Starring
Denzel Washington, Angelina Jolie,
Queen
Latifah, & Ed O'Neill

A psychological cop thriller
involving a paralyzed detective and a rookie
youth services officer.
Denzel is Lincoln Rhyme, a genius cop who was
injured on the job,
and now only has control from the shoulders up, and one
of his fingers (makes
for easier computer navigation!). After a rookie cop
(Jolie) finds a buried
body and a bunch of clues, Rhyme forgets his woes and
is interested in the
case. And in the cop! He convinces her to switch for
forensics, so that she
can act as his eyes & ears (and legs and arms, etc)
while he barks commands
to her remotely. She agrees and they're off!
Putting little pieces
of evidence together in unbelievable ways, and always
one step behind the
killer!
Nothing really new here.
A lot of detective/serial killer story cliches,
but it was still entertaining.
That is, until the end when the killer shows
his/her face.
Ooof. What a goofball. Denzel, Angelina, and Queen Latifah
are all good, but do
we really need the holier than thou, dumber than a rock
captain (or whatever
he was)? There are some chills, but not a ton. Some
torture and a little
little bit of gore. But like I said, it kept me
interested till the
end, and I'd recommend you watch it, but not own it.
