THE BOSTON STRANGLER
(1968)
Starring Henry Fonda, Tony Curtis & George Kennedy

Quick Rating:  ****

This is a well-done suspenceful movie, based upon the actual serial killer who strangled a dozen women in Boston in the early 60's.  The first hour or so deals with the killings and the commotion and fear that ran rampart in the city as a result.  The filmmakers utilized multiple pictures on the screen (much like TV's "24" or the recent "Hulk" movie), and did it well.  It portrayed the hysteria and the confusion of those times in Boston.

Really stealing the show is Tony Curtis, who first shows up an hour into the movie.  He is the Boston Strangler, and he pulls off the role very well.  The remainder of the film deals with the strangler and his psychoses.  Very well acted, and very well produced/directed.  The cinematography is great, especially in the scenes where Curtis is trying to remember his grisly deeds.  Well worth watching.
