A BUCKET OF BLOOD
(1959)

Rating: **
This odd little horror film opens up in a beatnik bar where one arteest is
spouting off about art in his poetic and windbaggish way. We are introduced
to the not-too-bright busboy of this club, who yearns to be an artist.
Well, later that night, at his beaten up apartment, we're witness to one
of the most bizarre cat deaths in film history. Walter (the busboy)
decides to hide his horrible act by covering the dead cat in clay and passing
it off as art. Everyone loves it, and encourages Walter to make more
works of art. And just as he is creating these works, now of human
form, people start disappearing (although, no one notices these people disappearing!!).
Walter becomes a huge success and lets the fame go to his head. He
becomes eccentric and can't stop "sculpting".
Like I said, and odd little horror film. Somewhat interesting, somewhat
predictable, definitely laughable, and the acting ain't too bad for a bunch
of beatniks!
