A Cause
For Concern
(2001)
Starring
a couple of bums

Shocking. And it
takes a lot to shock me. Although some scenes were
disappointing.
After hearing about this "movie" on the internet, I was
ready for some homeless
people attacking each other in a sort of real-life
WWE. However,
most of the fights involved teens in after school scuffles.
Where this really shines
is in the bums and crackheads we spend time getting
to know. There's
Rufus, who becomes the stuntbum for the filmmakers. He'll
run into signs and get
pushed down a hill in a shopping cart and whatever
else you'd like him
to do. And there's another bum who we never really
learn the name of, but
he was willing to tattoo "Bumfights" in big bold
letters across his forehead.
And how could I forget
Bling Bling, who tells us of his expertise in smoking
crack, and after taking
a hit, he sings for us, opening his toothless maw
wide. And the
elderly tattooed freak who feels the need to show us his
"little dick" and then
informs us he's "mentally disturbed ... from the
military!".
I could do without most
of the fighting scenes, and the parody "Bumhunter"
left a bad taste in
my mouth. I really can't explain too much more of
this - you'll have to
see it yourself. But it'll be tough to get certain
images out of your head
after viewing.
