HUSTLERS
(1976)

The 70's, trucks, C.B.s,
smokey, and prostitutes - Sounds like a movie to
me. Let me sum
up the complex plot of this stinker: A couple run a
prostitution business
to truckers using their van's C.B. A policeman and
two local news reporters
are on their trail. They escape. The end.
Of course, there are
the gratuitous scenes which illustrate plainly that
they are prostitutes
(thank god for that, or this movie would never be
watched). And
there's a selection to appeal to all men - a blonde with
large breasts codenamed
"Lemon", a brunette with medium sized breasts
codenamed "Prune" and
a red-head with extra-large breasts codenamed
"Watermelon".
So they drive from truckstop to truckstop, pleasing truckers
for cash. The
sheriff and two reporters catch wind of what's going on and
try to get evidence
enough to stop it. And just when they do, the CB
Hustlers drive over
the county line. What a suspenseful film this one is.
oof.
The editing is horrific
- I don't know if they lost footage, butt there's
frames missing.
People "jump" during scenes, and dialog is cut off.
There's one conversation
where I don't think you can make out one word said.
And then there's the
bad camerawork. One excruciating long scene takes
place at a van rally,
where all the local van drivers converge to drink beer
and play football.
The entire scene looks to be filmed from a surveillance
camera. It's long
range visuals with overdubbed vocals. Not the most
engaging cinema, to
say the least.
