Erich von Daniken's controversial book gets the cinematic treatment.
His ideas are interesting - how many ancient civilizations were very similiar
in their stories. And how these stories of strange powered beings from
the sky gave knowledge to the people. And there are descriptions and
paintings/pictures of people that do appear to be astronauts or extra-terrestrials.
But that doesn't mean they build the pyramids! There's a lot of rambling
on in this "documentary", but a point is never made. The script is
dull, and is neither convincing or riveting.
The photography is on-location all over the world, which is great, but is
of poor quality, which lessens your interest even more. Some of von
Daniken's ideas are already outdated, but there are others still unsolved,
which keeps people interested in the mysteries of the past.
Anyway, this documentary is hardly well-done, and I would recommend reading
the book over viewing this.
