CHICKS IN ZOMBIETOWN
(1989)
Starring:
Billy Bob Thornton
&
Martha Quinn

The title says it all
- in fact it sums up the entire plot.&nbbsp; A gang of women
bikers called the Cycle
Sluts stop in a sleepy little town for some R&R and
some "meat". While
they're there, they encounter zombies created by the
town's mad scientist
(Don Calfa) - shouldn't every town have their own? I
think the movie touched
upon how the zombies were created - I guess I wasn't
that interested - but
it was something about batteries in their heads and
nuclear radiation in
a local mine? At any rate, the bikers and zombies
clash, and heads roll.
Overall, this film wasn't
very entertaining, despite the entertaining
concept and title.
This could have easily been a half-hour tv show rather
than a 100-minute movie.
There are some good qualities - seeing Billy Bob
Thornton in his first
role, plenty of decapitations, a chainsaw to the
crotch, and a hilarious
scene where the biker chicks tease the zombies with
a side of beef on a
rope, and lead them into a church, where the blind
orphans sing.
But other than that, this flick is slow, boring, poorly
acted, and disappointing.
When they finally got around to the big fight,
the gore scenes were
few, and in some cases repeated! There was no nudity.
And the makeup on the
zombies was awful. Skip over this one, unless you're
a compulsive zombie
movie collector, and an unhealthy fan of Billy Bob.
