Quick Rating:  ***

A low budget movie featuring a family driving to the in-laws for Christmas Eve dinner.  They are late and the father decides to take a shortcut off of the interstate.  Weird things happen after that.  The father sees a woman in white.  The mother hears voices.  The son jerks off in the woods.  The daughter is left to walk alone down this street in the dark in the woods lost while her family is more concerned with this hitchhiker.

The family is entertaining though.  They bicker and fight.  Jokes are played, comments are made, feelings are hurt.  It's typical family-on-a-long-drive type of dialogue and humor, but it's real.  The acting is great (except for the son, and the additional cast members at the end), and the suspence heightens as you get as lost as they are.  The whole movie is the family in their car on this seemingly endless road.  It's a testament to the writing and the acting that kept me interested the whole time.  The ending is a letdown (as most of them in movies like this are), but it didn't spoil the movie for me.  I really enjoyed it.
