DOG SOLDIERS
(2002)
Featuring soldiers vs werewolves
Quick Rating:
***
This British horror movie starts out with a lovebird couple camping in the
highlands of Scotland. They're about to get it on when something opens
the tent door. Some sort of hairy beast. And is massacres them.
Later, a bunch of soldiers are playing war games in the nearby woods.
A giant dead cow is thrown into their camp (?) and they go to sleep (!?).
The next day they happen upon a special ops team that has been decimated.
Blood and weapons are all that are left. Oh, and their leader, who
has been injured. They find the team's weapons (which were not even
fired, signalling that they were attacked very quickly and lethally), and
carry on. Luckily they meet up with a woman who drives them to a house
(the only one in the area?), and the men quickly learn they're dealing with
werewolves.
From there, the rest of the movie has the soldiers defending this house from
the vicious and seemingly unkillable werewolves outside.
There's a good amount of gore (although the effects are kinda cheesy), and
there's some good action. The werewolves looked pretty fake, but they were
well hidden for most of their scenes. The acting is ok. The plot, alright
- There are some plot holes and most everry situation/reaction was in some
other movie, but overall, it kept me entertained.
