Dr. Hitchcock is a cripple, and near death's door.  He struggles with the confinement his condition forces upon him, but he does have hope.  His doctor, the younger and handsome Dr. Livingstone, is administrating a possible cure, brewed up by Hitchcock himself, who has been rumored to delve into the black arts.  One part poison, one part antidote.  Well, when his younger, conniving wife Margaret (Steele) decides she cannot take any more of her husband, she convinces Livingstone, with whom she is having an affair, to forget the second part of his medicinal treatment.  Hitchcock is poisoned and dies.

Margaret and Livingstone are elated - now they can be together, without her husband/his patient, and enjoy his wealth.  However, things don't all go as planned.  A series of bizarre supernatural events occur causing the couple to believe they are being haunted by Hitchcock's ghost!

The first 3/4 of this movie is slow, slow, slow...  I found myself dozing off a couple times.  But it does pick up near the end, and it turned out to be somewhat enjoyable.  Some twists and turns, most were expected, but some were not.  The acting was passable, although Steele tends to bug her eyes out way too much.  The plot was ho-hum, and possibly could not stand up to heavy scrutiny.   If you're asking for a hit or miss, overall, I'd have to say miss.  But if you suffer through the first half, you might as well watch the whole thing - it does have some redemption.
