I guess I wasn't expecting this to be great.  But I was expecting SOMETHING!  Guh.  From the first scene, the lump was in my throat.  Oh god, they shot this movie with a cheap-o camcorder.  It had lower production values than a Mexican soap opera!  ... Uh... ok... well, let me collect my thoughts here, and sorta give a lowdown of the story.

This couple (who aren't married - not sure if that's important or not) move to California.  They want to make it in Hollywood.  They bought this place on a steep hill called Edendale.  Almost immediately, three neighbors come to greet them to the area.  Two of these three look just like Moby, and it's tough to tell them apart.  Not that it matters.  Neither is a character that adds anything to the story or the film.  Oh, and there's rotten food in the fridge.  Yucky.  The girl cleans it up.  The guys are moving packages.  Boy, this is one thrilling f'n movie!  And the story sorta continues like this...   Occassionally (and seemingly randomly) scary things happen.  There's no real point to them, and most aren't even explained by the end, but they happen.  And they seem to only happen to Rachel (the girl of the moving couple, around whom the movie is focused).

Apparently she has a history of being crazy.. ?  She hears things and sees things.  And then her boyfriend Kevin starts acting weird.  He's quit smoking, he's working out, and he's eating better.  But he's developed an attitude and is mean to her.  Rachel is getting freaked out and doesn't know what to do.  Is she crazy... or is everyone else... or is there something supernatural going on?

Honestly, you won't care.  The acting is wooden.  The plot shows some promise, but ultimately is disappointing, brought down by its underdevelopment.  The characters are poorly written and the script is pathetically uninteresting.  I didn't care about these characters.  I didn't care about what was happening to them.  There was no point to any of it.

The visuals were bland to say the least.  Poor lighting, cheap footage, and cheaper special effects.  I don't mind cheap special effects... but these were not just cheap, but bad.  They looked like someone was halfway through doing the effects and then gave up, and they printed it.  I thought about giving this film a 1, just cause it appears that Mr. Avalos was trying to come up with something spooky and creepy...  but the more I thought about it, the less I cared for this film (which was pretty low to begin with).
