Rating: ** Two parents lose their 8 year old son, their only child. Right after the tragedy, they are approached by a brilliant doctor (DeNiro) who has a proposition for them. He wishes to make a cloned fetus of their child and have him reborn. The father (Kinnear) is set against it, but the mother (Romijn-formerly-Stamos) misses her boy dearly and eventually convinces her husband to do the risky and illegal procedure. The experiment is a success, or so it seems. The boy grows, just as he did before, and the parents couldn't be happier. Until he reaches his 8th birthday, and passes the point when he had formerly died. The boy changes. He has night terrors, he acts differently, violent even. This leaves his parents and the doctor trying to figure out what is going on with the cloned boy. I don't know... It wasn't bad, but it wasn't all that good either. The concept had potential, but most of the story and dialogue seemed very stale. It just didn't move me, or really go anywhere. The acting was decent, but some of the lines were just plain bad. And the ending was unsatisfactory. I guess you can tell a movie isn't that great when there are 6 alternate endings. I didn't get to see those, but surely one of them must have been better than what they went with. Not a bad movie, but I wouldn't really recommend it, or watch it a second time. Quality: 3.5 Visuals:
