Essential Dracula Movies
1922 - Nosferatu - (Max Schrek)
1931 - Dracula - (Bela Lugosi)
1958 - Dracula (aka Horror of Dracula) - (Christopher Lee)
1992 - Bram Stoker's Dracula - (Gary Oldman)

This list is short, but it is the best of the best in Dracula movies.  The first, Nosferatu, a German silent film from 1922, was based on Bram Stoker's novel but without the permission of the Stoker family, and all copies of the movie were to be destroyed.  Luckily a few copies remained so that we can witness this incredible film.  The 1931 version is the most famous, and it made Bela Lugosi a horror star, and over time, a horror icon.  Hammer films revitalized horror films in the late 50s, and their Horror of Dracula was one of the best - many sequels followed with Christopher Lee as the Count and Peter Cushing as Van Helsing.  Francis Ford Coppola's take of the Stoker novel is a fantastic and imaginitive film that no horror fan should miss.
