MITCHELL
(1975)
Starring
Joe Don Baker,
Linda
Evans, & John Saxon

"Mitchell" starts with
its intro credits with super slow-motion. And the
paces slows from there.
The movie focuses on Mitchell (Baker), a lazy,
gluttonous slob of a
cop. He's the kind of character that would make a good
sidekick, or some comic
relief, just the kind of guy you'd never make (or
watch) a movie about.
He bumbles and stumbles around attempting to catch a
rich murderer and an
evil drug dealer. Oh, and he also sleeps with Linda
Evans... and then has
her arrested! The movie is slow, the action is poor,
and there's just no
real point or even total closure to the plot. There is
one intense 25 mph car
chase scene. And an exhilarating helicoptor-boat
chase that will put
to sleep. But other than that, there's really nothing
good in this movie at
all. Unless you like laughing at the horrible 70's
clothes and hair.
Or, if you'd like to see Mitchell snag the remaining
beers of a six-pack
with his big toe while he's making love to a prostitute
on the pull-out bed
of his couch!
