THE
SURGEON
(1994)
Starring
Peter Boyle & Malcom McDowell

As if people weren't
already afraid of going to the doctors. Now they'll be
afraid to go to the
movie theater. Especially if crap like this is playing.
Simple enough premise
- a psycho doctor gets revenge by killinng people in
bizarre fashions.
ho-hum. There are some good camera angles & movements,
and some interesting
death scenes, but overall this movie lacks character
and suspense.
And, did they really have to play on people's fears of
needles so much?
Almost every death scene - here comes a needle in your
eye, or in your arm,
or in your forehead. And did we need gratuitous male
nudity?
Well, I guess if you like movies with monkey experiments,
defibrillators, hospital
sex, and pituitary extracts, then I still wouldn't
recommend this one -
There must be a better movie out there with those
things. Boyle
& McDowell can't save this sinking ship.
Slogans from box:
"First Jason... Then
Freddy... Finally, a Professional."
"The Surgeon, he's got
a killer bedside manner."
