Storm of the Century
1999
Starring: Timothy Daly & Colm Feore
Rated: PG-13
Stephen King worte the teleplay directly for Tv, and also wrote a tie-in book. The basic plot of the movie is that a bad storm is coming to this small island in the northeast. A man, Andre Linoge, comes from nowhere and kills an old woman and sits in her house until people come. He knows things about people though, he knows their deepest and most personal secrets and carries a walking stick with a wolf on the end of it. Finally the town sheriff, Mike Anderson comes and arrests him, he almost lets himself be arrested. So he is taken to the town jail in the back of the general store owned by Mike Anderson and has to be taken through the store, scaring all the people, because for some odd reason the door wont open. So the entire town, with the exception of some of the men and Mike who stay with Linoge at the jail, gather at the storm shelter underneath the town church. Things happen and they prove that Andre Linoge is no ordinary man, or maybe not even a man, who wants something. The phrase "Give me what I want and I will go away." starts to appear all over and in the end the town has to make a desicion. Another great story from the master of horror, Stepehen King.
