brinke:
it's
nice to be important - it's more important to be nice
greetings fiends.
i seen your requests for rants and what angers you from the
horror host's perspective, so let me oblige. one of my stories
involve certain people who think they are too 'famous' to be
bothered by us local, public access, no money involved horror
hosts.
i don't want to mention any names,
o.k., you forced me, like brinke stevens.
let me start of saying that
i do understand that i am a 'nobody' and my show sucks indeedly,
in fact, whenever i go to conventions or ask people to come on the
show, the first thing that comes out of my mouth is, ' hi, i have
a little local cable show that sucks, but could you do a quick
interview or be a guest'.
it was the year before at 'fangoria's
convention' in pasadena, where we had a table and doing interviews
with such real celebrities like: reggie bannister, uncle forry,
elvira and come to think of it, the guy who was watching the door
(compared to miss steven's). we where stationed by the entrance
and just so happened that brinke stevens table was across from
ours. i have been told on many occasions to ask miss stevens on
the show by friends who know her such as armondo creeper and raven
white, but never really had a interest, of course not because my
show is anything great, (especially if anyone has seen it) just
because i didn't have any appeal to her, and that might be saying
something because i let anyone
on the show!!.
later when the convention
was winding down, raven and zephira was doing interviews with
people, they asked me who was the lady sitting across from the
table, i told them and they wanted to ask her for a interview. i
hesitated, then said go ahead if you want. they asked her very
politely while no one was at her table, she then asked them for
what station and then with a non-interested smirk, said ' no
thanks, and a condescending expression, but you have nice
outfits'.
my eyebrow went up to see
the embarassment look of the girls while they walked back to our
table.
brinke "brickhead"
stevens then looked over at me, i then said loudly so she could
hear, 'that's o.k. girls, she isn't anyone anyway".
let me say again, i am
nobody, my show is silly, but there is a much more politely way of
saying no, especially when you are not on the level of a bruce
campbell or mr. ackerman.
miss stevens, if this gets
back to you some way,
it will mean that i will never get a chance of doing a interview
or you coming on the show (boo hoooo), i guess i'll have to take
that chance:).
i do regret saying go ahead
to the girls, it would have been a waste of tape.
