Dan-Dan is discovered living under Griffin Manor at the start of season two of Prof. Griffin’s Midnight Shadow Show. Apparently, the old house was built on the ruins of an asylum and Dan-Dan has been it’s longest occupant. He is brought up from the caverns and begins working for Prof. Griffin as his assistant. He is superhumanly strong, fun loving, and completely insane. His insanity manifests itself in a variety of ways. Sometimes he freaks out, Tasmanian devil style, and makes no sense at all. Other times, he is remarkably lucid and honest. His relationship to Prof. Griffin is like that of a puppy, and he enjoys trying to make Usher smile. She never does. He also prides himself on being able to name all the members of YES, and enjoys wearing chains Usher is Prof. Griffin’s one and only real assistant. (Dan-Dan is hopelessly insane and is often the cause of more than his share of trouble.) Usher is competent and efficient. She is, however, a little weird. She is the last living descendent of the infamous Usher family and has some of the family quirks. She has un-naturally pale skin with eternal dark circles under her eyes. She often goes into a trance and stares at people for an uncomfortably long time. She is wide-eyed and precise when talking with a clipped speech pattern and the occasional head tilt. (Think Fargo) She’s cocky but only with Dan-Dan. She was sent to work for Prof. Griffin by HIS boss, Prof. Lampini and Griffin often worries that she’ll report the latest blunder or mistake to him. She is loyal to Professor Griffin however, and is usually one cool character. That is, unless Christopher Lee is mentioned or involved. Usher is madly in love with Chris Lee and talks about him whenever she can. If The Shadow Show is exhibiting a Christopher Lee film, Usher becomes wild with love. He is her dream come true…Tall, Dark, and Gruesome. History of the Historian! Prof. Griffin was originally the brainchild of James Fotinos and his brother Joseph Fotinos as the macabre host/barker of The Circus of Horrors haunted attraction in Houston, Texas. Joseph, a professional actor and improv comedian portrays Prof. Griffin. Upon moving to Austin, Joseph re-launched the character and created a horror-host. Teaming with Shane Scott, a talented filmmaker and producer with Broom Closet Studios, Prof. Griffin's Midnight shadow show was born! Prof. Griffin's specialty is studious presentations of classic (and not so classic) horror movies with behind the scenes trivia, facts, and back-story. Griffin's knowledge of the genre is prodigious as is his love and dead-ication to bringing this films to a new generation of late-night television audiences. Prof. Griffin's Midnight Shadow Show features new comedic assistants each week for Griffin, based on the exhibition in the Shadow Show. |
