Dreadful XIII
"Penny
Dreadful's Shilling Shockers."
The powers of Penny Dreadful, venom-hearted witch and horror-hostess, are still spoken of in the hushed
whispers of young children. Long ago, Dreadful and
her werewolf husband/co-host Garou vacationed in
Salem. The two were soon accosted by an angry mob led by cantankerous monster hunter Dr. Manfred Von Bulow. Unbenknownst to Von Bulow, “Penny Dreadful’s Shilling Shockers” was to debut that very night. Upon learning of the premiere, the mob abandoned their plan to destroy the two supernatural beings and ran home to catch the program. Enraged, Dr. Von Bulow (semi)retired from his profession then and there. Nowadays, Penny and Garou have taken up residence in a desecrated cathedral in suburban New England. Dr. Von Bulow moved in next door. Since no one else can put up with the peevish monster hunter, he reluctantly co-hosts the show along with the witch hostess and her “snarling darling” Garou. The program is broadcast via black magic and features classic terror films from beyond the grave, as well as many strange locations in New England.
