FRIDAY, OCTOBER 12 - 9:30 P.M. - BUY TICKETS NOW!
FULL SCHEDULE

THE 2007 SPOOKY MOVIE FILM FESTIVAL announces the opening night double feature, a special Saturday program and complete schedule for our sophomore year. Twenty-five independent feature films and shorts will screen over the course of the weekend - October 12 - 14, 2007.

Opening Night, Friday, October 12, Cinema Arts Theatre will be Northern Virginia's habitat for vampires, werewolves and cannibals, beginning with the feature EAT YOUR HEART OUT at 9:30 p.m. At midnight, the "grindhouse" feel of the evening continues with the film "BLOOD BOUND." Both new, independent movies will be preceded by shorts, and for a second year in a row, the entire evening is made possible by sponsorship by Virginia Barbecue of Manassas, Virginia.

THE SPOOKY MOVIE FILM FESTIVAL is once again honored to have regional superstar "Count Gore De Vol" host the opening night double feature - especially considering that this month will mark his 35th Anniversary as a Washington D.C. icon.

"I expect to see things never before scene on a movie screen!" The Count said, with regards to his return engagement.

In addition to "Count Gore," alter-ego, Dick Dyszel, entertained and educated a generation of fans in the 1970s and 1980s through his popular characters "Bozo The Clown," and "Captain 20" on WDCA Channel 20 in Washington, D.C. "Count Gore" remains one of the more sought after guests at nostalgia and memorabilia conventions, is even the subject of two upcoming documentaries on the subjects of horror hosting and local television, and is the generous host of his weekly web program, "Creature Feature" (www.countgore.com), which begins its tenth year in 2008.

"Opening THE SPOOKY MOVIE FILM FESTIVAL is the most exciting thing to ever happen to me," The Count teased: "Right after biting Marilyn Chambers, Dee Wallace, Brinke Stevens and a few others!"

Introducing The Count will be one of the legion of artists he has influenced over the years- "Karlos Borloff," the host of "Monster Madhouse Live," seen locally on FCCTV in Fairfax County and Falls Church on Cox Channel 12 on Starpower Channel 2, all of Northern Virginia on Verizon's Fios service Channel 35, and (following The Count's lead) all over the world live on the internet on show nights. THE PROGRAM

WEREWOLF ON PCP - Enjoy this trailer that will set up everything you need to know about what happens when a werewolf smokes some PCP and then "wigs out." From writer/director James Branscome (filmmaker behind a 2006 TSMFF favorite "We All Scream"), this faux-trailer is an excellent way to begin both the festival, and our Grindhouse Opening Night!
Horror * 2 minutes

THE DOLLHOUSE - The graceful old house by the creek may seem like the perfectly wholesome setting for Wendy and her daughter, but things aren't always what they seem! An excellent modern tribute to the classic Italian-slasher style of horror of the 70's and 80's, THE DOLLHOUSE is a fun romp through the genre, replete with sexy mommy, a spooky kid (pictured), creepy dolls, stilted dialogue, RGB lighting, and a gory kill sequence. This festival season THE DOLLOHOUSE also screens at ShockerFest and the Atlanta Horror Fest opening night. "You have been a very bad boy…!"
Horror * 26 minutes

EAT YOUR HEART OUT - Jeffery is a lonely man looking for a girlfriend - or at least one that will have something to do with him. His journey leads him to Pandora (played brilliantly by Melissa Bacelar), a mysterious "lady of the night" who he would quickly give his heart to. And he just might. Sure to be debated on exactly what Pandora is by you and all of your smarty-pants friends, come out and harrass screenwriter and producer Joshua Nelson with your questions during the intermission.
Horror/Comedy * 90 minutes

[there will be a short intermission]

SHEEP SKIN - A group attempts to take revenge on a man who they believed killed their friend. But…if we collectively learn anything at all by the movies this weekend...things aren't always what they seem.
Horror * 12 minutes

BY APPOINTMENT ONLY - Making a new life for herself, Jane heads to the country. On her way to view a house for sale, her car breaks down. Taking refuge in a small town diner, Jane waits for a tow trick. Luckily, a fellow diner patron offers her a lift so she can make her appointment. Bringing new meaning to "dysfunctional family," BY APPOINTMENT ONLY recently screened at the 2007 San Diego Comic Con.
Thriller/Horror * 20 minutes

BLOOD BOUND - Ten years ago, his life as a respected police officer was turned upside down when he discovered vampires were real – and hungry. When his partner Jacob fell to the charms of immortal seductress Xan, Alex left behind his job, his family, and the comforts of the daylight world to hunt down the undead creatures that plague the night. Now, as Jacob and Xan return to the city to exact their horrible revenge on their human prey, Alex finds himself facing both their terrible plan and the ghosts of the past he thought he’d left behind.
Horror/Action * 86 minutes
