Player Conduct:
YOU MUST BE 13 OR OLDER TO JOIN!
Do not advertise or link to other cyber horse games on your pages. If you want to advertise something, contact one of the presidents.
Do not send chain-letters and mass-mail to Horse Sense members.
No harrassment of other members is permitted.
Profanity is strictly prohibited.
If a player breaks any of these rules it is the responsibility of the other player to contact a president or vice president, who will take action against the player.
Punishments are determined by the presidents and vice presidents and all verdicts are final unless just cause for an appeal is determined. The presidents decide if suspensions and expulsions are final.
No cheating what so ever on anything! We want the game to be fair.
All horses in the game MUST have bloodlines! Meaning no unknown x unknown horses. All they need is a sire and dam name.
Finances
New members start playing with $200,000 and 6 made up horses.
All new members are required to keep and update their financial records regularly once they become official members.
The presidents and vice presidents have the right to request to view the financial records of a player.
Each member receives a $20,000 check every month. Consider it an allowance and dont blow it.
If you are low on money and need some see if there are any stables with open job positions. You can get a good pay this way.
All transactions are paid with checks. Below is the format you use to write a check:
--- To: (The person you are paying)
--- From: (Your name)
--- Amount: (self-explanatory)
--- Memo: (what the check was for)
Game Duration
One Real Year = One Sim Year
No aging horses younger than they are.
No Speed Aging, we dont want horses older than their parents.
Foals are born as soon as they are bred. You dont have to wait.
Events - Shows - Races
In order to host a show you must make a page for it or post it on a message board.
Show results must be in no later than 5 days after the show, unless you have a valid reason.
Associations - Registries - Clubs - Foundations must hold an event or show at least every two months.
Horses must be at least 2 years old to show under saddle.
Please do not overshow your horses. If you do the horse will be taken away.
No Cheating On Results!
If there is suspicion that somebody has cheated in results or payed off the show holder please email the presidents, they will look into it.
You must follow the Horse Sense points system.
Breeding
Foals are born as soon as they are bred. You do not have to wait.
Horses must be at least 3 years old to breed. But, it is recommended that mares be four.
All new foals must be registered with the mandatory registry to exist in the game.
You may put your horses up for stud or brood for members in the game or outside of the game. You do not have to put your horse up for stud or brood if you do not want to. *TIP* Sometimes, not having your horses available can increase the value of their foals if they are a really nice horse.
Farriers - Vets
You will notice that there are no farriers or vets in the game. That is because you are not required to bring your horses to the farrier or vet! Yay! If you dont like this then there is seriously something wrong with you!
Association - Registry - Club - Foundation
Anyone who is a member may create one of the above items.
There can only be one of each kind of the above items. (ie. NO Quarter Horse Foundation and Quarter Horse Registry)
You must have a grading system for all horses, meaning horses must be APPROVED upon joining. The horse cannot just join. Please grade on the horse, it's website quality, and progeny. Show records can also be used for grading.
It is recommended that you make banners for horses who are member's of your establishment. You do not need to put the horse's name on it. But have the name of your establishment and the grade the horse got. All banners can look a like, all that needs to be different is the grade.
Below are the requirements on your page:
--- NO EXPAGE whatsoever!!!
--- Frames are not required but recommended
--- You must have a Rules page and a Joining page
--- Members page - with email and link to stable (if applicable)
--- Registered Horses page - with link to horse's page and owner's email
--- Standings page - this is where you will keep tally of the points the horses in your establishment receive from the shows in your establishment. They should be used to count towards year end awards. Use the same points system as the game.
--- Shows - self explanitory
--- Archived Results - you must keep all of the results from the past 3 months on this page.
--- Disclaimer!!! - This is the most important thing!
Registration
All horses must be registered in the Mandatory Registry or the dont exist in the game.
When a horse is sold the buyer must transfer ownership with any registries.
If there is a registry your horse applies for then register it! The more registries the more fun!
No two horses may share the same name or pictures, no matter what breed they are.
Barn Admission
There are four categories of players in the game:
--- Boarders: Boarders are new players who start 6 made up horses. Boarders can own up to 20 horses as long as they have the funds to pay for boarding fees. Boarders may only breed 5 mares a month.
--- Mini Barn Owners: Mini barn owners must have been in the game for at lest 2 weeks. They may own up to 40 horses as long as they have the funds to pay for care. Mini barns may not board horses. Mini barn owners may only breed 10 mares a month.
--- Barn Owners: Barn owners must have been in the game for a least 1 month. They may own up to 100 horses as long as they have the funds to pay for care. Barn owners may be a private or boarding stable. To become a barn owner you must have owned a mini barn for 2 weeks or have 2 reccomendations from other barn owners before sending in an application. Barn owners may breed 40 mares a month.
--- Licensed Breeders: Licensed breeders are barn owners who have owned their barn for at least 2 weeks, meaning they have been in the game for at least 6 weeks. They may own as many horses as they want within reason but must have the money to care for the horses. Licensed Breeders may breed as many mares as they want a month.
Importing/Exporting
If you are just joining and coming in from another game you should email a president to ask about importing your horses or barn.
It costs $500 to import a horse. There is a fee so members won't go overboard with importing horses.
If you are importing a horse that has a show record you must have proof. You must have the show name, class and placing the horse placed in the class. If your horse's show record is approved its points must be converged over to the Horse Sense points system. If you do not do this the horse's show record will not be valid.
You can export as many horses as you want at no cost.
Horses can be taken with you when you are quit (or sold in Horse Sense but if they aren't they will be given away).
You must register any Imported horse with the Mandatory Registry immediately or they dont exist.
You must notify the Mandatory Registry whenever your Export a horse they can delete it from their records.
Horse Pages
Upon joining, you must make pages for all the horses you own and send the links to the owner of the stable you will be boarding at.
Boarding barns must link to the pages of the horse's boarded.
Below are the requirements for each horse's page:
--- No EXPAGE!!!
--- Please keep the page organized and neat. Make sure it is easy to read and that the colors do not clash.
--- Name and full stats
--- Parentage - NO unknown x unknown LINES! If there is enough known to create a pedigree please make one. If you dont know how email one of the presidents and they will help.
--- Atleast one picture - You must save the pictures to your computer and upload it to your site. No hotlinking!!! If I find you hotlinking it CAN result in immediate expulsion. Try to be aware of copyright laws too, please.
--- Stud or Brood fee. It is up to you if you want to put your stallion or mare up for stud or brood. If you dont want to make it available just say 'Not For Stud' or 'Not For Brood'. If horses are available but there is no set price say 'For Stud (or Brood) At Private Treaty'.
--- Foal Records - if your horse has any foals please include them. Links to their pages are a great bonus to interested SIMmers!
--- Show Record - you must have a detailed show record for every horse you own. You must include the show name, class and placing for each show.
--- Disclaimer! - Please dont forget this!
Businesses
Any member may open a business.
There can be more than one kind of business. (ie. three Tack Shops, two Truck and Trailer Sales)
Do not just call your business Farrier or Truck and Trailer Sales! (blah!) Give it a name, like Pine Hollow's Tack Shop or Pine Hollow Automotive.
Below are the page requirements for business:
--- No EXPAGE!
--- Frames are not required, but recommended.
--- Inventory page - what you are selling w/ the prices.
--- Order form - please remember to include your email and name please.
--- Disclaimer! - you must have this!
Please keep prices reasonable. Nobody is going to pay $5,000 for a close contact saddle. I understand that some high quality saddles do go for this much in real life everyday. But in SIM the tack doesn't make the horse.

Quitting
If for some reason you decide you can no longer be a member of Horse Sense please follow these guidlines.
You may take your horses with you. But if you bought a horse from somebody in the game please contact them and see if they want the horse back first. If it is found that you have quit and have not contacted the former owner or breeder of the horse the horse will not be allowed to leave the game.
You may take any horses you imported, created, or bred with you.
If you wish to sell your horses in the game upon leaving do not give the horses all to one or two people. Give others a chance. Also remember, people have limits on how many horses they own.
