As a child I liked to run and skate across the slick marble tile in front of the store entrances and in which was inset the Baker-Poston insignia--Ed Brown
| Built in 1902, the Lowe-Carter Hardware, became the Baker-Poston Dry Goods and was then the W. H. Bowden and Sons Dry Goods building when it burned in 1980.
