He must not have had any toys of his own to play with, for the former owner did not send any with him. But when we got home, we washed some of Peppy's toys and gave them to Poco. He was very proud of them and plays with them all the time now. He knows they are his and he likes to play with them by himself, except now and then he likes a game of keep away. When he gets tired of them then he wants to play with Daddy and Momma. But we are often doing our own thing and he knows just what to do.
So he will go sneak something of theirs, a letter, a magazine, eyeglasses, whatever he can find, then he comes in where they are and shakes it in front of them to get their attention. When we try to get it, he runs, not far; just far enough to keep us attempting to get the object he holds. Very similar to the broken-wing act a Killdeer mother bird when she puts her show on just to lead you further and further away from her nest that is on the ground.
After we get the object, usually by swapping a treat for it, I will get down and play with him until I am tired, then we go outside to see if we can find another rabbit to chase. Did you know a butterfly can be chased all around the yard or did you know you can pick up a pear and toss it and chase it down for along time before it is chewed down too much for further use. Seeing the world through the eyes of child or puppy viewing things for the first time is so amazing and refreshing.

This is one of several toys. He likes the one best that as he rolls it around, some food spills out and he gets rewarded for pushing it over the room. And he loved his tennis ball, but he has carried it somewhere and rolled behind something. We have searched the house but it is nowhere to be found. I think he carried it outside and one of our regular night visitors, Mr Racoon, stole it and took it home to play with.

There are a lot of rabbits out there and it is my job to keep them from eating daddy's grass, because he had rather mow it. |

Poco has learned to love Mama too. At first he was a little frightened of her. I think the lady that owned him probably had corrected him and made him mind for he has always been a Daddy's boy. |
![]() | You know, Daddy, she is a pretty sweet girl after all so I will give her a kiss. She is so good to me. |
