I was browsing thru eques.com.au..the forum...and noticed an add
for a free mini pony.
I contacted the lady in Kilmore and she told me that due to drought
conditions, her house tank was nearly empty, and she had to let
Spirit go. . So I organised for myself and my familly to go and
look at him the next Saturday.
We hooked up the float, made a quick stop at Lowdens saddleworld
first...and bought some mini float boots, just in case we did go
ahead with this pony.
Well..when the lovely Lady sent her daughter down and got spirit..I
couldnt believe my eyes...he was just the cutest mini pony I had
seen in a long time., and such brilliant markings! The Lady and
I both agreed that $150 would buy her a tankfull of water...so thats
what I paid.
Since then, I've discovered that Spirit is very well bred. This
little guy had been written off by some mini breeders early on in
life because they thought hed go overheight. Well he hasnt and I've
gained the most beautiful and loyal pony you could ask for. He has
such a personallity that I've made him HID Victoria Mascot.
We are in the process of having him broken to harness, which I'm
sure will be easy, as most things to do with him are.
I feel very privelledged to have rescued him, I love him to death!
I hope to have him out in public as our mascot by the end of this
year.
