"War On Hospital Ships Part Two, 1939-1945"


An end of World War Two Japanese government published propaganda postcard that alleges this transport was a hospital ship illegaly sunk by an American submarine.

A photograph showing the prewar German cruise liner "Whilhelm Gustloff". In January 1945 this ship acting as a defacto hospital ship(after having served in 1940 to 1941 as an official hospital ship) was torpedoed and sunk with great loss of life in the Baltic Sea off of the German coast while evacuating German wounded, women, children and military officials.
