From the airport:
From outside arriving terminal, take the shuttle bus "Real" (company's name) that
drives along Ipanema Beach. Get-off in front of the Hotel "Sol Ipanema" and get in
the street "Vinicius de Moraes" right beside that hotel. Rua Barão da Torre is the 3rd
paralel street. Turn right on Rua Barão da Torre and go to the number 177.
Yellow taxis donīt have a fix point at the airport.
Only the special white taxis are allowed to have a station
there and their service is more expensive.
Taking a yellow taxi outside the airport can be a little cheaper
but it can be not so safe, depending on the kind of driver the passanger can take.
We have stories of guests who had to pay R$80 or much more for not honest drivers.

The hostel can arrange transportation from the airport to the hostel
with a very reliable and honest driver at a cost of R$65 for the trip.
He will stand at the airport waiting for you holding a sign with your name.

From the bus station "Rodoviária Novo Rio":
"Real" bus with AC (aproximately R$5,00)
Regular buses numbers 127 or 128 (R$2,20)
For either kind of buses, get-off at Ipanema at the street "Prudente de Moraes" by
the corner of the street "Farme de Amoedo". The street "Barão da Torre" is the 2nd
crossing street. Turn left and go to the number 177
(yellow taxis cost from R$30 to R$35 from bus station to Ipanema,
depending how honesty the driver is even working on the meter)
