Since May 2000, the BBB has received complaints from Pagecreators.net customers amounting to more than $76,000.00. Pagecreators.net is a company which claims to offer discount Web hosting services. Pagecreators.net now has an unsatisfactory record with the BBB due to patterns of: 1. Not responding to customer complaints brought to its attention by the Bureau. The BBB has on file 32 consumer complaints to which the company has refused to respond. 2. Failure to eliminate the basic cause of customer complaints. The company has not taken any measures to address the problems that are causing its customers to be dissatisfied, including its confusing policy regarding a 30-day money back guarantee. 3. Complaints alleging misrepresentation in advertising. The company refuses to comply with BBB standards of honest and ethical advertising, and consumers continue to be misled. "This is an instance of e-commerce gone awry. Pagecreators.net is a company that is unwilling to respond to its customer complaints received by the BBB, and unwilling to fix its problems," said Jay Pfaender, BBB President. "Unfortunately, this company seems to have no plans to improve its business practices anytime soon. We continue to regularly receive complaints from consumers across the U.S. and throughout the world about Pagecreators.net." The BBB has received complaints about Pagecreators.net from the following states in the U.S.: Massachusetts, New Jersey, Arkansas, California, Idaho, Wisconsin, Illinois, Nebraska, Florida, Ohio, Michigan, and Oklahoma. The BBB has also gotten complaints about Pagecreators.net from consumers in the following countries: Austria, Turkey, Scotland, Bulgaria, New Zealand, Jordan, and the U.K. In addition to receiving numerous complaints from consumers about this company, the BBB also discovered that Pagecreators.net was displaying the trademarked BBBOnLine Reliability seal without meeting the program's standards and earning approval from the BBB. The company did remove the seal upon the request of the BBB. "As people become more comfortable doing business online, they may forget to do the proper research to ensure a safe Internet experience," says Pfaender. "Prior to doing business with a company, we urge consumers at a minimum to check out the company's references and its BBB report. If you see a BBBOnLine Reliability seal, always click on the seal to pull up confirmation from the BBB that the business is a participant. If the seal is 'dead,' the business has not obtained the proper authorization from the BBB." Consumers with complaints against Pagecreators.net can file a complaint with the BBB by visiting the Bureau's web site at www.mnd.bbb.org or calling (651) 699-0011, toll-free (800) 646.6222. The Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota provides services to consumers and businesses. The focus of the Bureau's activity is to facilitate good relationships between businesses and consumers by encouraging honest advertising and selling practices, and offering complaint resolution.
