| Ma left and I went into the sitting area. Absolute quietness. "Who was at the door?" Someone finally asked.
"It was Ma. She came a week early but is going to stay at my brothers house." "OH." Pasted everyone lips but Nick's. He had a look of confusion on his face. "Um, anyone up for some ice crème? Was there something wrong with the cake?" "Sure ice crème sounds good. We were waiting for you to cut the cake" Jory stated. "Ok, I will be right back with the ice crème. Nick want to help with the bowls?" Back out in the kitchen. "What were you saying before the doorbell?" "I said no I don't want to cause you trouble I just...." Just as he started again Jory walked in. "Yes?" I asked. Jory just took the bowls from Nick and walked back in the sitting area. Pure confusion fell over both of our faces. I thought 'did he find out? How? I can't handle this tonight' I took the ice crème and spoons out leaving Nick standing there in the kitchen alone. "What was that about?" I asked Jory. "We will talk about it later. Let's have fun right now. Go get Nick and we are going to play a game of truth and dare." Truth and dare, oh no, he's does know and wants to work it out of me. "Hey I said go get Nick." I started to walk to the kitchen but as I pasted the stairs I ran up them. What was I going to do now? I was at a complete loss of reality. Everything was black and white as I kept running down the hall. Finally to a door hopefully my room. Yes in deed this is my room but it looked different everything was colored in a crimson red color. At the mirror I looked myself. A single tear fell down my cheek. As it ran down my cheek it felt like a razor cutting the skin. Compared the room my tear was an ocean blue. As fast as everything changed it changed back. Everything is back to living color. I laying in the middle of my room alone and confused. Try I might I could not move from that spot but a loud scream came from somewhere. It was me. Then pounding door sounded through. "Nikki, open this door now let me in." It was the voice of Jory. "I can't move, get the keys" is what I thought but all the came out was another scream as I tried to move again. Then Nick appeared just as he did earlier. He lifted me up and carefully sat me down on my bed. I looked at him with a confused. Yet all he did was shake his head no. I just fell back on my pillow and went into a deep sleep. Just before I closed my eyes I saw Nick walk to the door. What he did I will never know? |
