Lucille Ball
America's Favorite Red Head
Lucille Ball is most famous for starring in the American classic sitcom I Love Lucy.  Along with her then husband Desi Arnaz, and co-stars Vivian Vance, and William Frawley.  The series ran from 1951 to 1957.
Lucille Ball was never very involved in politics.  In 1936 she registered to vote under the communist party after the insistence of her grandfather.  She was listed as a communist for 1936 and 1938.  The media later dug that information up at the height of her fame, simply to make something of nothing.
