| McCarthyism followed after World War Two. It lasted from the late 1940s to the mid/late 1950s. The word McCarthyism comes from Senator Joseph McCarthy. Another saying for McCarthyism was the second red scare. Over 300 actors, writers, and directors were victims of McCarthyism and the HUAC. They were denied work because of this Hollywood blacklisting. |
