"Wear it Out" = great, great record, as evidenced by Pete Heller's sampling on his monster hit "Big Love" a few years back...one of the better efforts out of the disco end of EWF's production team
Absolutely love their Ministry Late Night Sessions Anyone know anything else they have done mix-wise? (To the people who were raving about Naked Music they would like this - it has Blue 6 and lots of similar) From: Jim Kerr (jkerr@hbase.com) Date: Fri Mar 31 2000 - 14:18:52 MET DST from the acid jazz mailing list
Although prominent house DJs and producers individually, London-based remixers Terry Farley and Pete Heller enjoyed their greatest notoriety working as a duo. They first surfaced in the early '90s as part of Andrew Weatherall's Boys Own collective, making their debut with a hugely popular remix of the Farm's "Groovy Train"; hits for Espiritu ("Francisca"), Sunscreem ("Perfect Motion"), K Klass ("Don't Stop") and Secret Life ("As Always") followed. Farley and Heller also earned wide renown when their mix of M People's "Open Your Heart" topped Billboard's club charts in 1995. A year later they reunited to assemble a two-disc entry into the Journeys by DJs beatmix series, with their own "Ultra Flava" 12-inch appearing at much the same time. In addition to working under the own names, Farley and Heller additionally recorded as Roach Motel, an outlet for their more underground projects; they also joined producer Gary Wilkinson in the lush garage techno trio Fire Island, as well as teaming with Weatherall and Hugo Nicholson in Bocca Juniors. Their other pop remix projects include work with New Order ("Regret"), Michael Jackson ("Blood on the Dancefloor"), his sister Janet ("When I Think of You"), Kylie Minogue ("Where Has the Love Gone?"), U2 ("Salome") and Pet Shop Boys ("Go West"). ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide

Heller & Farley Project "Ultra Flava" (am:pm)
Donna Giles 'similar' "Donna In Dub" mix has been pulled from his/her current release
leaving the way clear for Pete and Tel's 'original', formerly available on the JBO "From The
Dat" EP. Their reissue includes the addition of vocals and gets man-of-the-moment-ed with a
Grant Nelson mix. Tony Walker: "Last year's big club smash finally gets the major
push by AM:PM, featuring mix work by the great Grant Nelson. The garage heads will plumb
for Nelson's which contains all his trademarks; big beats, punchy stabs, solid piano riff. It's
cool. But for maximum dancefloor momentum "Pete's Dub" is the one, using the original
b-line and going off on a bit of an EQ mission to send the kids mad." Yogi agrees:
"Catchy keyboard hook and repeated female vocal chant. All the ingredients are here for a club
smasharoo." K-Klass: "Destined for chartbound success, an absolute monster, BUT
did we need the new vocal? Decide for yourself, but we feel the 'Original Flava' is still the
biggy." John Locke: "Yeah, that's the mix. The added lyric is a bit of house platitude,
but fair do's, it certainly does work. Nice Latino percussion breaks, great stabs, lovely
bassline... ooh a melee of class and style and a big crowd pleaser everywhere." Uptown:
"Originally the backing track of the Ultra Nate's excellent "Hold On". The dub's been blowing
up for months, and with the new mixes is an essential purchase."
