Telex 1978-today

Telex are a synth-pop trio from Brussels, Belgium.

The group was formed in the middle of the seventies and consists of Marc Moulin (musician, producer, radio-presenter and businessman) had played in Placebo in the seventies. This group played funk-jazz and released three albums. The other members were sound-technician Dan Lacksman (who also had a solo-career before - and after Telex) and Michel Moers (architect, designer and text-writer). The disco song "Moscow Disco" became a huge hit from Brazil to the New York club scene in 1979.http://houbi.simplenet.com/belpop/groups/telex.htm

Placebo: Counterpoint records shifts into gear once again with another release which will confirm the label`s expansive direction! Marc Moulin`s seminal album, "Sam Suffy", was recorded in 1974, yet sounds as contemporary as the latest offerings from the Mo Wax/Yellow camps. It is truly "the ultimate trip hop/jazz experience"!!! After spending his formative years gigging on the European jazz circuit, Belgian born pianist Marc Moulin released this experimental jazz/funk excursion to minor critical acclaim in his homeland. Twenty years on and "Sam Suffy" is in big demand with dj`s, collectors and devotees of the leftfield club sounds. This music is the blueprint for today`s jazz-infused sounds. Tracks like "Tohubohu", "Le Saule" and "Le Beau Galop" are destined for clubland`s more adventureous dancefloors. Equally, "Sam Suffy" is a sublime listening experience, taking that jazz thing to another level. Counterpoint records are proud to finally make this lost masterpiece available on cd and vinyl in it`s original format, and remastered by Marc Moulin!
