I found your site very useful & hopefully can implement some of the ideas (esp. 50% solution). I was diagnosed with this over a year ago. My husband left with no warning because of not enough sex (CAD!), I am 41 and have three children 2,6, & 12 to car for by myself...no job....no child support & a not-so friendly divorce (yes..he did get himself a younger woman with no children). I have those guilt days when I'm not a real great mom, but have at least tried to conserve my energy just for them & let th housework go if need be or just have frozen pizza if I'm not up to cooking the usual big dinner. I know I'm jumping around on the subject, but just wanted to let anyone else out there to take heart because I've been through Heck with this and I'm still improving or at least not as bad as I was even though I have had to take on more. Thanks!

I just surfed on and have now bookmarked you. Good info. I have CFS and have tried none of the fad treatments. Had great doctors at first for diogonosis and now my MD will listen to anything new that occurs and make sure it anyting but CFS. I am somewh t better anfter 6 years. Not well but qualtiy of life is Ok. All I have found that works is always stop before fatigue no matter how stupid I look. That may be after a walk in a field with the dogs or after a walk to the front door. Never push my limi and rest as soon as any fatigue starts. I look really lazy because I don't look sick but I've been very faithful for about 2 years and now I can see a difference. Its hard to do because people don't want to let you but seems to be the only route to any ime in the day when you don't feel ill.

Loved your letter. I didn't see the episode you were referring to but your response was great. Being a fellow suffer (FMSw/elevated ANA)I am too familiar with the debilitating symptoms and the search for answers. I know most of my relatives and acquaint nces don't understand, with varying opinions (depression, lack of exercise, etc) I still work full-time so I am so thankful for people like you who make the public aware of what we are going through, when I go home at night I am a vegetable.

I am a 25 year old mother of two and a military spouse with lousy health care and your site of Symptoms and Treatments helped me greatly in understanding what has been wrong with me for so many months now. agree with your advice on each person doing just what they can and can't do and I feel that even though a small amount of exercise may wipe out us sufferers for a while, it is still important to our health. I think the web site is wonderful. It was nice to hear others were going through the same as myself. Especially when the doctor's act like you are making the things up. I found out I had CFS 2 years. It has been a battle since then. My husband is in he military, so we move often. I just got my doctor to figure out what I had, and trying to help me cope with it. We then had to move. I am now basically starting all over. It has become worse now. I am showing signs of M.E. I had been suffering fro FM, but didn't know what was happening. Figured It was just standard soreness. I became really concerned with the muscle cramping and acnes, in the last few months. So my new doctor the other day about it. She wasn't to reassuring. After reading on ou sight, I now know my latest complaints are from M.E. I have suffered from very bad sore throats also. Was told tonsils were bad and just needed to be taken out. I am now wondering if that is from my CFS also. Well your sight has helped me a great d al. I plan on visiting often. I didn't want to stop reading but it is late. Again thank you for this wonderful sight and letting me run you ear. You have a good thing going here.

I am a recently diagnosed suufferer. Whilst the treatment I have received has taken away the pain, the fatigue still knocks me sideways!. At least now I am able to do the laundry without the fear and pain I felt in the past, plus it's nice to know I'm not alone. The guilt still gets me somet mes though, very badly on really bad days. Let's hope better treatment, better understanding and that more doctors realise that what we are going through is very real. Love to you all. xx

I too need to use disablity sticker on bad days. I was chewed out by an older gentlemen who said I did not look disabled. I yelled at him and told him he had alot of nerve making a judgement about my disabilty. Then I went into the store and cried. Th nks for sharing your story with me. I thoroughly enjoyed reading your material. I found it inspiratinal as well as informational. I've been sick on and off for so many years, suffering with so many ailments,feeling so alone and not wanting to live in pain anymore. Nobody seems to underst nd, especially my children. I'm so weak and fragile and miss the endless energy I used to have. I just was last week diagnosed with CFS for the first time. Today is the first day I actually got on the net. The only thing that keeps me going and desiri g to live are my children. Like you said, if I don't listen to my body, then I end up paying the price. I'm going to read your other material too so I can hopefully understand what is going on so I can learn to live with this virus, adjust my life accor ingly and learn to enjoy the small things in life again. Thank you for your sweetness, sincerness, and kindness for sharing your story. I am 51 and had shingles 2 years ago and subsequently developed post-herpetic neuralgia (very painful chronic condition). Four months ago I developed hypo-thyroidism and am currently take medication, but my symptoms of fatigue, dizzyness, off-balance, sto ach complaints, constipation/diarreah continue. I have a friend with severe CFS who has suffered and lost many friends which makes me realize that I might have CFS (I scored 93% on the probability test). I'm going to the doctor tomorrow and will take a print out of the 'test.' Understanding that if I have CFS that I will make the effort to live in a new way - learning to deal with unsupportive family members (including my mother). My husband and 3 adult children have been taking care of me for 2 1/2 years, I could not do 'ordinary household chores. I put my husband through alot of hurtful angered emotions because I didn't understand and I thought my life was ending. After reading your story I felt much better, although I did cry... It's so nice that there are people like you in this world that share. Carol, right now my husband is typing this email because I'm not a typist (and I'm tired - HA!) We've been married 30 years in May, and if I hadn't his support for the last few months I wouldn't have made it. I put him through alot of emotional upsets bu our love has grown closer and deeper.
