 Listen to Your Heart

There may be days when you get up in the morning
And things aren't the way you had hoped they would be.
That's when you have to tell yourself that things will get better.
There are times when people disappoint you and let you down,
But those are the times when you must remind yourself to
trust your own judgments and opinions,
And to keep your life focused on believing in yourself
And all that you are capable of.
Words of wisdom

Before you begin a thing,

remind yourself that difficulties and delays quite impossible to forsee are ahead ...

You can only see one thing clearly and that is your goal.

Form a mental vision of that and cling to it through thick and thin.

Worth While

It is easy enough to be pleasant,
When life flows by like a song,
But the man worth while is one who will smile,
When everything goes dead wrong.
For the test of the heart is trouble,
And it always comes with the years,
And the smile that is worth the praises of earth
Is the smile that shines through tears.
It is easy enough to be prudent,
When nothing tempts you to stray,
When without or within no voice of sin
Is luring your soul away;
But it's only a negative virtue
Until it is tried by fire,
And the life that is worth the honor of earth
Is the one that resists desire.
By the cynic, the sad, the fallen,
Who had no strength for the strife,
The world's highway is cumbered to-day;
They make up the sum of life.
But the virtue that conquers passion,
And the sorrow that hides in a smile,
It is these that are worth the homage on earth
For we find them but once in a while
A Dozen Things to Do Today

1. Remember that some of the world's nicest joys are    its most special people, and that YOU are definitely    one of them
2. Take care of that special person
3. Enjoy the ride
4. When the world is too busy, slow it down!
5. Climb one rung higher on the ladder to your dreams.
6. Imagine what the view will look like when you get where you're going
7. Stay in touch with your inner voice; it always speaks    the truth
8. When you've been working too hard, give your batteries time to recharge
9. Remember that you are someone who is thought of    - with friendship and with love
10. Keep a smile on that wonderful face of yours.
11. Have a great day!!!
12. And be happy!

You Never Can Tell

You never can tell when you send a word
Like an arrow shot from a bow
By an archer blind, be it cruel or kind,
Just where it may chance to go.
It may pierce the breast of your dearest friend,
Tipped with its poison or balm,
To a stranger's heart in life's great mart
It may carry its pain or its calm.
You never can tell when you do an act
Just what the result will be,
But with every deed you are sowing a seed,
Though the harvest you may not see.
Each kindly act is an acorn dropped
In God's productive soil;
You may not know, but the tree shall grow
With shelter for those who toil.
You can never tell what your thoughts will do
In bringing you hate or love,
For thoughts are things, and their airy wings
Are swifter than carrier doves.
They follow the law of the universe -
Each thing must create its kind,
And they speed o'er the track to bring you back
Whatever went out from your mind.

It Couldn't Be Done

Somebody said that it couldn't be done,
But he with a chuckle replied
That "maybe it couldn't," but he would be one
Who wouldn't say so till he'd tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn't be done, and he did it.
Somebody scoffed: "Oh, you'll never do that;
At least no one ever has done it";
But he took off his coat and he took off his hat,
And the first thing we knew he'd begun it.
With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin,
Without any doubting or quiddit,
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn't be done, and he did it.
There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done,
There are thousands to prophesy failure;
There are thousands to point out to you, one by one,
The dangers that wait to assail you.
But just buckle in with a bit of a grin,
Just take off your coat and go to it;
Just start to sing as you tackle the thing
That "cannot be done," and you'll do it.

Don't Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, you must - but don't you quit
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow -
You might succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup.
And he learned too late, when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt -
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

Myself
I have to live with myself, and so
I want to be fit for myself to know,
I want to be able, as days go by,
Always to look myself straight in the eye;
I don't want to stand, with the setting sun,
And hate myself for the things I have done.
I don't want to keep on a closet shelf
A lot of secrets about myself,
And fool myself, as I come and go,
Into thinking that nobody else will know
The kind of a man I really am;
I don't want to dress up myself in a sham.
I want to go out with my head erect,
I want to deserve all men's respect;
But here in the struggle for fame and pelf
I want to be able to like myself.
I don't want to look at myself and know
That I'm bluster and bluff and empty show.
I can never hide myself from me;
I see what others may never see;
I know what others may never know,
I never can fool myself, and so,
Whatever happens, I want to be
Self-respecting and conscience free.

Climb Till Your Dreams Come True
Often your tasks will be many
and more than you think you can do--
Often the road will be rugged
and the hills insurmountable too--
But always remember, the hills ahead
are never as steep as they seem
and with faith in your heart start upward
and climb till you reach your dream--
For nothing in life that is worthy
is ever too hard to achieve
if you have the courage to try it
and you have the faith to believe--
For faith is a force that is greater
than knowledge or power or skill
and many defeats turn to triumph
if you trust in Gods wisdom and will.
For faith is a mover of mountains.
There's nothing that God cannot do
So start out today with it in your heart...............................
Climb till your dreams come.............................true!!!!!!

Good Enough Is Neither
All too often 'good enough' is where the weak hearts stop.
It keeps the very best in each from coming to the top.
'Enough' implies just gettin' by and 'good' falls short of best.
So 'good enough' is average stuff and seldom meets the test.
The ones who 'shine' and seem to find success are those who dare
To charge right past old 'good enough' and show the world they care.
Never being satisfied with just an average plan,
They work and think and push themselves to do the best they can.
Remember that the choice is yours and you alone choose either,
But those who 'shine' are those who know that 'good enough' is neither.

Something To Believe
Tonight as I feel the warmth of every tear
Fall from my face yet never quite disappear
I long for the gentle hands that could ease my fall
But now every touch that once meant so much
Means nothing to me at all
I just want something to believe.
Between the silent prayer of the fallen day
And the rise of faith from the ashes of decay
Spirits haunt the night like a hard rain of fear
Where the lines of sorrow in the face of tomorrow
Crack the open mirror
I just want something to believe.
Every time I try to drift away
I always hear a voice that calls me to stay
As I turn the page on forgotten days
With thoughts that long for forgotten ways
I search for a hidden sign in the right and wrong untold
Leaving behind to only find
All that shines is not gold
I just want something to believe.

Play in the Day Your In
Beaten down, battered, broken, afraid
Will pain go away if I'm strong?
While tears flow copiously, I have prayed
That weeping can't be wrong
Understanding, attentive, patient and real
You reach out and I'm alive
Again tears flow freely as I truly feel
Now I'm ready to survive
Breaking that veritable wall of darkness
Cautiously backing away to see
Assembling all truth I sincerely confess
In this day I can be free
Who knows the reasons? Who is to say
Why we live through what we must
It's taking each moment as gift for today
That will grow to love and trust
So now, I play in the day I'm in
Productive as I can be
Living here, Loving now, is how I win
And keep life alive for me.

After the Storm
The storms may come And limbs may break;
Yet others bend Beneath the weight--
Of heavy rain And windy breeze...
A storm can mark The strongest trees.
Life sometimes deals With us this way;
In unseen trials We meet each day.
It's not how much our bodies break
Or how much they may bend;
It's our outlook in our own life
That helps our spirits mend.

Life
Learn to make the most of life,
Lose no happy day.
Time can never bring thee back,
Or chances swept away.
Leave no tender word unsaid,
Love while life shall last.
The mill will never turn again,
With water that has past.

This life is yours
Take the power
to choose what you want to do
and do it well
Take the power
to love what you want in life
and love it honestly
Take the power
to walk in the forest
and be a part of nature
Take the power
to control your own life
No one else can do it for you
Nothing is too good for you
You deserve the best
Take the power
to make your life
healthy
exciting
worthwhile
and very happy
while you
reach for
your dreams.

I'm Learning How
Every day I'm learning how
To walk a straighter mile,
I've even found a way to
greet A sadness with a smile.
I have discovered inner strength,
I knew not I possessed,
A quiet peace that flutters,
Like a dove within my breast.
I've learned what is reality,
And what is make-believe,
And that it isn't smart to wear
One's heart upon one's sleeve.
I've learned to be more tolerant,
With others and myself,
And that one cannot truly give, . . .
Until one gives himself.
I'm learning to appreciate
The days that hurry by,
To be content and know that there
Are none so rich as I.
I've found my true vocation,
What I was meant to do . . .
And when life mocks to smile,
and say, . . .
"I'm merely passing through!"
